This textbook combines new specifications, engineering case studies, and numerical simulations based on the author””s research. It focuses on the basic concepts and theories of design for underground structures. After an introduction, it covers various topics, such as theory of elastic foundation beam and theory of mechanical calculation methods for underground structures, as well as the theories of design for shallow-buried structures, underground continuous walls, shield tunnel structures, subway by-passes, open caisson structures, immersed tubes and pipe jacking structures. It also includes thetheory of reliability for underground structures and the theory of numerical analysis for underground.
This textbook is intended for graduate and undergraduate students majoring in civil engineering, urban underground space engineering, highway engineering, railway engineering, bridge and tunnel engineering, water conservancy and hydropower engineering.
