本书为能源动力类专业导论的英文教材。全书共7章，简要介绍了能源的基本概念、能源利用的基本原理、各种能源利用过程及其特点，重点对新能源的种类及利用现状进行了介绍，并对其中存在的问题做了分析；描述了典型的能源动力装备的功能特性，并将原理、技术、部件与系统结合起来进行阐释；特别分析了水能的利用技术和发展思路，并以叶轮机械为例介绍了流体机械的特征及其在能源利用过程中发挥的重要作用，最后对能源动力领域的发展进行了展望。本书可作为能源动力类和机械类留学生的专业入门教材，也可作为有关专业本科生的专业英语教材。
作者简介
康灿，1978年生，河北省宁晋县人，博士，教授，博士生导师。自1999年7月至今在江苏大学能源与动力工程学院工作，一直从事能源动力类专业人才培养和流体机械及工程中的复杂流动研究工作。两次获重量教学成果二等奖，主持两门国家品质课程和一门江苏省课程思政示范课程。主编江苏省重点教材等著作8部，发表教学研究论文18篇。入选江苏大学教学名师。主持国家、省和各类委托科研项目30余项，研究成果获高等学校科学技术研究很好成果奖、江苏省科学技术奖、浙江省科技进步奖等省部级科技成果奖励11项。获评“十二五”机械工业优选科技工作者。获国家发明和软件著作权授权15项，发表科学研究论文110余篇。
