作者简介
许建平（1954-）,清华大学外文系教授。1982年1月毕业于西南师范大学；1989年获四川外语学院硕士学位。长期从事英语教学和翻译研究,先后执教于重庆大学外语系、东南大学外语系,1996年调入清华大学,2000年晋升教授。主要研究方向为英汉翻译教学、翻译理论与实践、翻译批评、语言文化。开设有英汉互译实践与技巧、高级翻译、翻译理论与实践、翻译鉴赏与批评等课程。在《中国翻译》、《外国语》、《中国科技翻译》、《清华大学学报》、《清华大学教育研究》、《外语教学》、《四川外语学院学报》、《西安外语学院学报》、《中国英语教学》、《大学外语教学研究》、《大学英语》等刊物发表有关翻译论文80余篇。著作有《英汉互译实践与技巧》、《文献阅读与翻译》、《研究生英语实用翻译教程》、《当代研究生英语读写教程》、《新编英语阅读理解与翻译》、《新视野大学英语》读写教程、《大学英语实用翻译》、《成功留学写作指南》、《译德载物》等十余部。

许建平等编著的《英汉互译实践与技巧(第四版)》与传统翻译教材相比，本教程的最大特点是用英语编写，旨在让读者通过阅读、对比，有效地培养和形成自己的双语语感，潜移默化地掌握翻译的一般技巧、方法。书中的主要内容来自作者近年来为清华大学研究生、本科高年级学生所开设的《高级翻译》课程，也可以说是作者十余年来的翻译研究理论、观点、方法的浓缩。本书的大体结构是：英译汉、汉译英同行并举，分头阐述；内容按章节逐次展开，循序渐进。每章正文之前用汉语拟写了章节概述，作为简要的归纳，章后配有适量练习，并附以答案，便于读者自学。各章既可单独使用，方便查阅，亦可与其他各章合为一体，互为参照。
