本书构建了宏一微观以及同一异类文本两个维度，运用语篇信息分析，详细描述了不同类别法律文本之间的信息相似性和差异性，探讨了语篇信息的预处理规则，旨在探索法律专业人士在阅读法律文本时查询信息的规律，并用计算机模拟实现。根据法律文本的信息特征，结合法律专业人士在信息查询中的信息处理过程，书中制定了三组信息规则，分别用以实现文本分类、上层信息项识别和下层信息项识别。
