作者简介
艾约瑟,英国传教士、汉学家。毕业于伦敦大学,1848年被伦敦布道会派来中国上海,任伦敦教会驻上海代理人,协助墨海书馆麦都思的工作。1856继任监理,主持该馆的编辑出版工作。在语言学方面,他出版了《上海方言文法》(1853年初版,1868年二版)、《中国官话口语文法》(1857年初版,1864年二版)和《上海方言词汇集》(1869年)。
本书特色
《上海方言文法》第一版由伦敦布道团于1853年出版,上海长老会于1868年再版。作者以其杰出的才能和语言学理论修养,对19世纪中叶开埠初期上海县城方言的语音、词语和语法进行了最早的忠实记录和全方位研究,有不少精辟的论述和独到领先的见解。
