本书在生成语法理论框架下对现代汉语常用三种焦点结构——“是”字句、“连…都/也”句和“只有…才”句的句法表现特征和句法生成进行探讨， 认为这三种结构的句法特征和内在句法结构存在共性，其共有的内在句法结构为：TopP最?、FocP…IP…VP…。在句法生成过程中，“是”，句式“连…都/也”和“只有…才”受［+F］特征驱使从词库中抽取，“是”“都/也”，和“才”占据FocP中心语位置。“连…都/也”句和“只有…才”句中的［+F］特征核查遵循核查一致假设，“是”字句中的 ［+F］特征进行“长距离”核查。此外，本书提出了汉语焦点准则，并从理论和经验上证明了其在解释汉语焦点现象上更具优势。
作者简介
何丽萍，湖南科技学院教师，博士、副教授、 国家留学基金委公派出国留学加拿大英属哥伦比亚大学访问学者、湖南省青年骨干教师、湖南科技学院学术委员会委员、湖南科技学院“十三五” 重点建设学科——英语语言文学学科带头人。现主持教育部人文社会科学青年基金项目1项、湖南省社科规划基金项目1项、湖南省教育规划项目1项、湖南省教育厅教改项目1项，主持完成湖南省社科规划基金项目1项，在《汉语学习》《语言与翻译》《社会科学》等CSSCI及省级及以上刊物公开发表论文近20篇。
