内容简介
本书对穆克吉移民书写阶段主要作品中移民的身份建构进行了研究。这既是对现有穆克吉前期研究的延续，又是在论述主题上的创新。穆克吉的移民书写，截然不同于印度裔作家R.K.纳拉扬的“扎根”书写及V.S.奈保尔的“无根”流亡书写，在后殖民书写中独树一帜。穆克吉颂扬移民在文化碰撞中拥抱混杂性与流动的身份，同时又对全盘融入的思想进行了强烈的批判。
本书主要应用后殖民主义理论对穆克吉的四部小说《詹思敏》《世界的拥有者》《理想的女儿》《树新娘》的移民书写进行了探讨。不同移民的身份建构、变形中的自我肯定、越界中的反叛与回望故国、对不同文化的反思，为追溯与梳理穆克吉融合美学的本质与发展提供了参照。
本书简要介绍了穆克吉的文学成就、个人移民经历及其在移民书写中独特的地位，同时也对穆克吉研究的国内外现状进行了梳理和评析，并简要介绍了本研究的理论框架与结构。
作者简介
苗颖，女，1975年3月出生，辽宁丹东人。英语语言文学博士，主要从事英美文学与文学理论研究。现为上海电力大学外国语学院副教授。
