本书为博士毕业论文，主要内容为基于构式语义观的中动结构探析。全书介绍了本书的研究问题、研究目研究意义及章节结构，以及书中主要涉及的基本理论框架，如论元理论、题元理论、Burzio定律、构式语法、语义框架等。本书批判性地回顾了有关中动结构研究的文献资料，总结分析了其主要句法及语义特征；分析了有关中动结构形成/生成的主要分析法，如句法生成观、词法生成观、语义分析法等。本书提出中动结构是个独立的语言结构，并不存在句法生成观主张的对应的主动结构或词汇观所主张的逻辑层面上对应的主动结构；本书也重新界定了中动结构主语的语义角色。
