作者于2011年获得上海师范大学汉语言文字学博士学位,师从张谊生教授。此后,于2019年获得澳大利亚悉尼大学哲学博士学位,博士论文题目是“The Yangzhou Storytelling of Rogue Pi Wu : A Case Study of Yang Mingun and His Repertoire”。此书以作者的博士论文为基础凝炼而成。本书对扬州评话的艺术特征作了一个跨学科探索。过程中重视田野调查,通过语言学、文学、表演学研究方式,探索并验证扬州评话的艺术特征源于表演者对表演语言、表演动作、表演内容等方面的传承和创新。扬州评话书面与口头传统的关系、扬州方言的语境构建作用也有机融合在该探索过程中。书中,作者用西方表演理论阐释中国评话表演中的术语,例如,“书路子”“口、手、身、步、身”“理、味、趣、戏、技”,目的在于找到中西方研究的相通之处。本书旨在为中国非物质文化遗产的传承和国际推广提供学术支持。
