Ecosystem services refer to the benefits that human beings get from the ecosystem. With the publication of research results from Costanza， Daily and other researchers in 1997， the term “ecosystem service” gradually attracted the attention of Chinese scholars. During this period， the focus was mainly on the value of ecosystem services. In 2005， UN released The Millennium Ecosystem Assessment report further promoted the research process of ecosystem services in China， and its focus began to shift to the relationship between ecosystem and human well-being. In 2012， the 18th CPC National Congress included the promotion of ecological civilization into the overall layout of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Ecosystem service is an important basis for the implementation of ecological civilization promotion， such as performance assessment， environmental damage compensation， ecosystem protection compensation and so on. It is also a specific measure to practice “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets”. Under the realistic needs of national ecological civilization promotion， Chinese scholars or government departments have made a series of explorations on the application path of ecosystem services， which greatly promoted the practical application of ecosystem services in China.
