作者简介
亨德里克·威廉·房龙（Hendrik Willem Van Loon，1882—1944），荷裔美国人，著名学者，作家，历史地理学家。他出生在荷兰鹿特丹，是杰出的通俗作家，在历史、文化、文明、科学等方面都有著作，是了不起的文化普及者，大师级的人物。他一生中出版了三十余种书籍，以通俗易懂、俏皮睿智的文风，将人类各方面的历史几乎全部都复述了一遍，主要作品有《圣经的故事》《文明的开端》《人类的故事》《宽容》《地球的故事》等。
