英语口语的流利表达得益于语块的整体产出,但对成人学习者而言,语块整体产出理论主要基于主观印象,有必要进行大规模实证研究。为此,本书采用学习者语料库研究方法,详细比较对比学术英语学习者与母语者的口语语块产出与停顿出现频率、位置的关系。本书第一章简要介绍研究背景、理论依据、研究目的与设计。第二章重点讨论英语口语流利表达的内涵、内容及评价标准。第三章深入探讨口语语块的定义特征。第四章论证学习者语料库研究与中介语对比研究的理论根据、优劣势、研究态势。第五章详尽阐述本书所研究的学术英语口语语料库“研讨课语料库”(theDSSCorpus)与参照语料库“微密歇根学术英语口语语料库”(the MiniM Corpus)的建设。第六章论证基于口语语料库的语块整体产出研究所需变量及其限定标准,简要介绍本研究采用的语料库检索软件“词匠(WordSmith Tools)”的词表和检索功能。第七章详细分析与讨论介词短语语块、主谓语块等其他词素的组合语块的内部停顿模式。第八章进一步分析与讨论五种主要类型语块的产出与停顿模式。第九章为研究总结。
