1938 年生于山东省福山县,
1962 年毕业于天津大学建筑系。
研究方向：建筑设计及其理论，中国现代建筑
史，西方现代建筑及西方现代艺术；
英译译著：《西方现代艺术史》《西方现代建筑
史》（与巴竹师等合作）等6 种；
学术专著：《中国现代建筑史》《中国现代美术全
集· 建筑艺术卷2-5 卷》等14 种；
建筑作品：青岛山东外贸大楼、南开大学经济学
院、天津大学建筑系馆等20 余项；
主要获奖：《中国现代建筑史研究》获教育部自
然科学一等奖（2002）及国家自然科学奖一等奖提名
奖等10 项。
