作者简介
钱歌川（1903—1990），原名慕祖，笔名歌川、味橄等。湖南湘潭人。著名的散文家、翻译家、英语学者。1920年赴日留学。1930年进上海中华书局做编辑，曾参与创办《新中华》杂志，并担任《中华英语半月刊》主编，在此期间，将大量精力放在英语读物的翻译、编写、出版方面。1936年入英国伦敦大学研究英美语言文学。1939年回国后任武汉、东吴等大学教授。曾与鲁迅、茅盾、田汉、郭沫若、郁达夫等文化名人交往，参与文化运动。1947年春，前往台北创办台湾大学文学院并任院长。六十年代赴新加坡，先后任义安学院、新加坡大学和南洋大学中文系教授。1972年底，以70高龄退出讲台，后移居美国纽约。
钱歌川一生发表了大量散文与英语教学资料，包括《翻译的基本知识》《翻译的技巧》《英文疑难详解》《英文疑难详解续篇》《论翻译》《简易英文文法》《简易英文动词》《美国日用英语》《英语造句例解》等，影响深远。
本书特色
