《丝路环游记》讲述的是四个中外小朋友在大熊猫华仔的带领下作为“文化小使者”重走丝绸之路，从成都出发到河南嵩山少林寺，得到长老指点，再到北京的长城，找到修建长城的英雄马汉留下的遗书，再护送这份宝贵的文献到陕西省博物馆。馆长为了感谢小朋友的贡献，特意邀请他们作为中国文化小使者重走丝绸之路，以唤醒沿途沉睡了千年的古老的中西方文化交流。他们从西安出发到中亚、伊斯坦布尔、雅典、罗马、埃及再重走西方大航海之路到了北美。最后华仔代表中国文化小使者在联合国大会发表“重走丝路，共创未来”的主旨演讲的故事。通过“文化小使者”往西去，再往东归的文化探险之旅，传递友谊，讲述中华文化，体验中西方文化差异，了解西方社会风俗礼仪，展现重建丝绸之路的决心和追求实现多元文明背景下的全人类开放、合作、包容、共建、共享的幸福生活的美好愿望！
