本教材探索中西文化的冲突、互补与共存，通过精选第一代表性的篇章对比中西方文化，从多个视角比较中西文化差异，深入剖析中西文化产生冲突的原因，探讨中国文化的传承与推广，培养学习者跨文化交际的能力。本教材共14 个单元，每单元由10 个部分组成：课文背景、词汇拓展、课文A、课文B、课文C、案例分析、阅读技能提升、翻译、课文复述和寓教于乐。每篇课文后均设生动有趣、与课文相关性强的练习。

2.注重知识传授与价值引领相结合
