Allen与Greenough的这本拉丁语语法书初版于1872年，名为《拉丁语语法》，仅274页；第二版问世于1877年，共329页；第三版（1888年）篇幅大为扩充，共488页；第四版（1903年版）共计490页，更名为《拉丁语语法新编》。华东师范大学出版社于2017年出版了该书的中译本，将拉丁单词、例句的相应英文，也都翻译成了中文，但其实直接以英文来理解拉丁单词、例句的语法结构反而更容易，故影印出版Ginn & Company Publishers的1903年版。
作者简介
艾伦（Joseph Henry Allen，1820—1898）：美国威斯康辛大学古典语言学教授，并专注于中世纪哲学研究。
格里诺（James Bradstreet Greenough，1833—1901）：古典语言文学者。
