力求科学而又通俗地介绍中医药学的内容，重点阐述常见而中医药颇
具疗效的疾病的防治。
TCM, which dates back to ancient times, has a unique theoretical
system. Chinese-English 《The Common Used Chinese Herbal Medicines
and Typical Prescriptions of TCM》 is edited with a view to disseminating
the theory and knowledge of TCM across the world, promoting academic
exchanges on medical science between China and abroad, and meeting with
the ever increasing international interest in TCM, so as to make it serve the
interests of all nations and benefit entire mankind.
According to the ancient books and records, there are about over
3000 of the Traditional Chinese Medicines (TCM) and 100 000 of TCM
prescriptions was edited, it is very difficult to study and grasp. This
book selects and introduces 162 of the most common TCM (only plantal
medicines) and 52 of typical prescriptions as introduction. The authors have
tried to make the contents concise, practical and easy to understand, making
great efforts to introduce the ideas of TCM in a scientific and simple way
as well as expounding the prevention and treatment of common diseases
which can be effectively treated by TCM.
