作者简介

保罗·贝特曼(Paul T.Bateman,1919年6月6日一2012年12月26日)，美国数论学家，因提出由多项式体系产生的关于素数值密度的贝特曼一霍恩猜想和与梅森素数和瓦格斯塔夫质数有关的新梅森素数猜想而被人们所熟知，担任美国数学协会成员71年，1950年加入美国伊利诺伊大学厄巴纳一香槟分校数学系，担任了15年系主任，获得名誉教授的荣誉。
